We are not a third-party supplier - every product we carry is based on our clients’ real-life needs.

Critical design, initial prototyping, and proof of design are performed on-premise. Designed with purpose from the ground up – it’s what makes our products so streamlined and efficient.

Luxmux has been recognized for our accomplishments on a provincial, national and international scale. In 2016, Luxmux was the recipient of the Alberta Science and Technology Leadership (ASTech) Outstanding Science and Technology Startup award. In 2018, Luxmux was recognized at the Society of Photographic Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE) conference as a finalist for the PRISM Award for Photonics Innovation.

Our Team

Yonathan Dattner has over 20+ years experience in the semiconductor, petroleum and Photonics industry. Yonathan has taken products through the whole life cycle from conceptual to commercial ready products, being sold worldwide. As founder and President of Luxmux Technology Corporation, he has negotiated and secured capital from private, industrial and government sources. In 2015, Luxmux received the ASTECH award for outstanding Science and Technology Start-Up. In 2017 and 2020 Luxmux was a finalist in the Photonics West PRISM Awards in San Francisco for the company’s innovative products being introduced to the market.

Yonathan is often invited to speak at industry conferences, seminars and panels, he has published a number of peer-reviewed journal papers, and has a number of patents. Yonathan received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technion - Institute of Technology in Israel, his M.Sc. at the University of Calgary, and was an external student at the University of British Columbia's Microsystems and Nanotechnology Group.

Yonathan is a professional member in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.

Bryan is a manufacturing, business operation management, marketing, and engineering executive with demonstrated responsibility and success in P&L management, international operations, research and development, product development, and business development. Leadership and directions include start-ups and turnarounds. He is a results- and efforts-driven facilitator and leader who can target issues, identify solutions and lead organizations to success. Bryan is also experienced in streamlining operations, implementing continuous improvement strategies, and creating top effort driven performer and top performing teams. Development of sensor clusters for pressure, flow and temperature measurement, sensor and brand development. Developing brand strategies with corresponding marketing and sales programs. Development of sensor modules for transducers in the medical and industrial marketplace. Development of technical marketing and sales strategies for photonic sensor systems. Responsible for the redesign of worldwide marketing and sales of integrated Laser Modules with Electronics for new market expansions test and measurement and structural health monitoring, and the marketing of photonic light sources for use in the medical marketplace. A good record of success in driving improvements in cycle time reduction by 30 - 50%, cost saving due to quality, materials and operational improvements and cost reductions savings of more than $5 mil on defined projects. Over 30 years of manufacturing experience, the most recent 27 years in Asia.

Orly is a shareholder and director of LUXMUX Technology Corporation. She received her B.Sc. from the Electrical Engineering Department at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. She completed her M.Sc. in 1990 and her D.Sc. in 1995, respectively, also at the Technion. Orly was a National Research Council (USA) research fellow in the areas of Advanced Image Sensors at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)/ California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech). Since September 2009, she has served as the ICORE Professor of Integrated Sensors, Intelligent Systems (ISIS) at the University of Calgary.

Ben is a shareholder and director of LUXMUX Technology Corporation and Managing Director of Agar Canada Corporation, a key LUXMUX strategic partner. Ben studied business at the école des Hautes Etudes Commercials de Paris (HEC Paris).

Luxmux begins development of ARMS Smartpole technology

  • Luxmux’s proprietary technology finishes second in the energy category of University of Calgary’s (U of C) New Venture competition

  • IRAP provides Luxmux with funding for the development of the Luxmux light source solutions

  • AITF extends a Research and Development (R&D) grant to Luxmux

  • Alberta Innovation and Advanced Education selects Luxmux and the U of C to perform work on an Alternative Light Source for Luxmux’s spectrometer. This project would eventually become the BeST-SLED

  • AITF provides funding for Product Demonstration Program

  • The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) provides Luxmux with financial support for Silicon Photonic Thermal Phase Shifter on a Chip Spectrometer
